Open Gate Films is the culmination of decades of filmmaking experience, and a love of telling stories through cameras.
When Director Daniel Kuberek was 11 years old, he found his dad’s old and abandoned VHS camcorder in a corner of the backyard shed. This kickstarted a journey that has included producing short and feature films, and now working with some of Australia’s largest organisations.
In filmmaking, “open gate” is an enduring term dating back to a pre-digital era. It meant that the maximum area of film - or now a digital sensor - would be capturing an image.
In a similar way, Open Gate Films is about using the maximum possibilities available - not only in creativity, but the complete approach of partnering along every part of the production process.
